I was slightly bored with the all-American teeth and tits
of US pornstars so decided to look for some 'normal' looking
girls on an amateur site. After hunting around for a while,
I found I Want
2 B A Pornstar.
The premise of the site is that amateurs post their movies
and photos for all to see. We then log on and pay to view
them. Simple.
There are two ways to do this, either by opting for the all
access price of $36 (£20) a month or by downloading individual
profiles. These cost different amounts but seem to be mainly
between £3.50 and £5 each, which isn't bad for some profiles
but others have only a few pics on them; you can see how many
and some thumbnails before you buy though, and you have the
option to view one free full sized photo (their choice) as
well. I opted for the all access version and had free range
throughout the site to do whatever I pleased (or so I thought,
but more of that later).
The opening web page has links for girls and boys along with
a few 'star' profiles. When I logged on there were 61 pages
of girls and 69 of boys, each with 18 profiles. Once you've
made your decision (girls or boys), you can search for individual
members, shuffle the profiles around (otherwise they come
up in the same order), look at them in newest order, the highest
recommended ones, the most popular, the most content and just
those with videos or mobile videos.
The search function is fairly basic, allowing you to choose
their age, how hairy they are (!?) and a few other options
like 'only show people who take requests' and 'only show those
who have uploaded a picture of them holding up a piece of
paper with "I Want 2 B A Porn Star" written on it. Why you'd
want that I'm not quite sure, but it's meant to show that
the photos taken were specifically for this site and it's
not just some random perve uploading pics he's found somewhere
and trying to make money out of them. I can think of much
better search options to choose personally, like 'does this
person have any girl/girl content' for starters!
Anyway, once you've opened up a profile you can read a little
about them, including how old they are, their favourite positions,
a little bio they've written and, bizarrely, their earnings
on the site. Why on earth would you need to know that? Well,
as a surfer you don't, but it does give people who are thinking
about appearing on the site an idea of what they can earn.
Next to those handy little snippets, you can see some of
their pics and click to get to their download page. This is
a single page with all of their pics and videos available
to display. Strangely though, you have no idea what video
you are trying to download. For all I knew, the movie I was
trying to download could have been a fantastically hot threesome
or a video of her showing off her new hair straighteners.
The movies download at about 60-100kb/s and can be of different
formats, including 3GP (these can also be sent to your mobile
phone if you like), WMV, AVI and MPG. It doesn't tell you
the size of the file you're trying to download so you have
no idea how long they'll take, but as this is an amateur site
they're usually just a minute or two long with the download
times equally quick. Even more bizarre, one video I tried
seemed to stop downloading at 8Mb. I'm not sure if it was
a problem with that particular one or some sort of limit.
(It turns out that the site was moving servers while I was
there. I've revisited it since writing this review and it's
running as sweet as a nut now.)
Obviously these are amateur vids so the quality can vary
wildly, but that should add to the authenticity. You can imagine
that it really is your girl or boyfriend up there on the screen.
The webmasters may have missed a trick though by not having
a webcam facility. This kind of site is made for webcammers.
That leads me on to another feature of the site. Some of
the members will take requests. Unfortunately though, you
have to upload extra credits in order to ask them. Yes, you
read correctly: after paying out £20 a month to view the site,
if you want to see a set of your favourite girl/boy doing
something special for you then you will have to pay extra
to even request it. As I didn't take advantage of this, I've
no idea how many requests you are allowed to make for £5 (the
minimum), but I can't help thinking 'what if they all say
no?'
(I've since heard from the site owner that you can offer
the model as much or as little as you like. If they say no,
it costs you nothing.)
My other main gripe on the site is that when you click on
a new profile or search page it opens up a new window. In
these days of tabbed browsing, opening up a whole new window
by default is criminal!
That's the negative, what about the positive? Well, you can
vote for your favourite person on the site and these will
get transformed into a rating for them. Those with a score
of more than 9.5 out of 10 are specially marked as recommended
- a great idea. The site also shows which profiles have been
validated (holding up a card with the site address) and those
members that take requests.
You can leave feedback for your chosen subject as well as
scoring them, but the comments all seem to be of the 'she's
the most beautiful girl on here' variety so it doesn't really
tell you much.
As I said, the content itself can vary wildly from a few
pictures on a page to several hundred and the same goes for
videos, some of which are fairly poor quality on a PC monitor.
The site itself is good at what it does. If you like amateurs,
you'll certainly enjoy this site. There are lots of profiles
to choose from and the girls and boys range from the 18 year
old girl in a schoolgirl outfit to a 56 year old bloke doing
the vacuuming and everything in-between. If you're looking
for variety, you'll certainly find it here.
The content itself is far removed from the polished professional
versions that you see on most sites. A fair proportion is
recorded on mobile phones and even more on their bedroom webcams
(sometimes with the washing on the radiator behind them),
but that's the joy of amateurs. It could easily be your next
door neighbour.
Overall, it's a pretty good site. There is a world of content
and over 2,000 people (and counting) to choose from, so you're
bound to find what you are looking for. That said, the vast
majority is 'solo' so if you're after group, two girls or
two guys then you might have to hunt about a bit to find it.
One final word of warning, the site did seem to be a little
temperamental. While I was reviewing it, there were a number
of times when the site was unavailable.
So, the all important questions: would I recommend it? If
you like amateur movies and pictures, then yes. And would
I pay the monthly fee? Yes, it's better value than the individual
