I'd heard a whisper that the filthy madam known as Angel
Long had a dogging movie on Rude
Birds so I thought I'd take a look. I've always had
a soft (or should that be hard?) spot for the girl with the
filthy mouth ever since I saw her on the late night freeviews
on Sky's adult channels.
At first sight, it looks fairly professional - nice enticing
home page with lots of pics of the movies they offer, a little
description of what the movie is about and the ability to
watch a short clip of the latest ones (first page only). You
can scroll through all 66 movies (at the time of writing,
though they promise another two every week) to see nine thumbnails
of each and decide whether you'd like to buy into it.
Right at the bottom of the page there is also a link for
those who would like to star in a Rude
Birds movie.
So, it's looking good so far. Let's join up.
Oh no! Is that it? Did I really just spend $34.95 on that?
I could have designed a better web page myself (admittedly
after reading through the quick start section of a Web Design
For Dummies book). That should give you an idea of how professional
and well thought out the design of the members area is. You're
met with a single page with all the movies in a central column
and three thumbnails for each movie. The only links on the
page are the thumbnails themselves which - if you click on
them - give you the standard open/save options.
At around 100 - 200 Mb each, it's not even quick to download
the movies, even if you have a relatively fast broadband connection.
There's no instant gratification here. There isn't even a
streaming option or any photo sets to look at while you're
waiting. Overall it's very poor.
There is no way of telling how much content is being added
though I suspect the two movies a week promise might be an
overestimate. I left it a few days and only one new one appeared.
To be honest, though, I'd expect a hell of a lot more than
two updates a week on this sort of site.
The content is probably bought in and not specific to Rude
Birds (I'm sure I've seen some of the movies before elsewhere)
and, although the quality is good and there is a bit of variety,
it's disappointing fare.
Can I recommend this site to you? Definitely no. Stay
well away.
